Layout progress

After bodging together a baseboard...certainly not an example of fine craftsmanship, more how not to do it (many lessons learned...will do better next time!) with approx dimensions of 6' x 1' and messing around with various plans I've settled on a trackplan.

My intention at the start was to build this layout using as many salvaged/unused items as possible to minimise expenditure (hence the baseboard being made entirely of offcuts) and as I already had 3 points and some PECO flexi track, they dictated the trackplan more of less.

The track at the top right will disappear under a bridge and into the fiddle yard. I'm pleased to say that the track has now been laid and tested and that work on ballasting and weathering will start soon!

Stock...

Here's a few images of some of the stock I've been working on recently. Mainly kitbuilt or detailed and repainted/weathered RTR they represent my first 'serious' attemps at building stock...

Don't worry, I've fixed that dodgy roof corner!
I also re-worked this Parkside open wagon that I'd built ages ago, gave it a new paintjob and a bit of weathering, quite pleased with the result.

First things first...

Having been modelling on and off with no real success for years, I recently decided to 'up' my game. Having been inspired by many amazing layouts on the web to 'have another go' I am in the process of slowly (very slowly!) building something resembling a layout!

I started off by building, detailing and weathering stock, and this is an ongoing process. I will post a few of my attempts here soon
